How to get there: One of the most inaccessible casinos not being within walking distance of the CDB.  Located on the southern side of the Swan River across the causeway bridge.  Take a train the Burswood station on the Armadale line and walk 2km or take the shuttle bus to the casino.  Alternatively take any bus from the CBD heading down Shepperton Road or Great Eastern Highway. Free parking is available although is hard to find on Friday and Saturday nights.  Undercover parking available for $3 an hour to a maximum of $12 per day.

General Conditions: Burswood is a resort style complex with 4.5 star hotel, theatre, sports stadium / exhibition centre and restaurants and bars.  It has some of the best dining in Perth with the award winning Windows and Genting Palace Restaurants.  Recent extensions has seen the opening of a new food court and night club.

One main gaming floor has the following blackjack tables:

$5-$250: 3
$10-$500: 10
$15-$650: 4
$25-$1000: 7
$50-$2000: 3

The use of continuous shuffling machines on every blackjack table has seen the end of card counting in this casino.  The only time I would recommend playing at Burswood is during their 'blackjack challenge' tournament, run twice every year.  See the tournaments page for more details.

Blackjack Rules

Back Betting / Wonging In
Back betting is allowed up to three hands per box.

Variations
Perfect Pairs is available on some tables.  A mixed pair pays 5 to1, a coloured pair pays 12 to 1 and a perfect pair pays 30 to 1. With these terrible payouts this side bet is not a good option.  The 'Wheel of Maddness' sidebet is available on 3 tables.  If you receive a blackjack and have placed the $1 side bet, you push a button to have the chance of winning between $10 and $5000.  I have no way of calculating the odds of winning, but I'm sure that this is not a good bet.

Blackjack Basic Strategy

For a given set of blackjack rules, there is only one best action to take for each possible hand a player may get versus each possible upcard a dealer may have.  This set of "best actions" is know as the Basic Strategy.  The basic strategy to be followed at Burswood is as follows:
